According to the commodity, the export of seaweed was US$218 million, a 57.6% increase over the same period of last year. Japan (73.8%), China (71.1%) and Thailand (62.1%) were among the top three growthers; tuna, oysters, and squid The main export commodities also maintained growth; squid (-38.1%) and squid (-14.6%) decreased due to the decrease in catches. By country, China is still the second largest exporter of aquatic products in Korea after it is in Japan. From January to May, South Korea's exports of aquatic products to China reached US$158 million, a year-on-year increase of 14.6%. According to the report, South Korea’s exports of aquatic products to China have continued to grow for 13 consecutive months since May last year and have not been implicated in the “Sade” issue. The Korea Ocean Fisheries Department said that in the second half of the year, it will set up an "export support center" in Vietnam and Taiwan to actively promote the diversified development of the aquatic product export market.
