2017-08-07

In the first half of 2017, Quanzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected and regulated 6827.9 tons of aquatic products imported from Taiwan and US$7.054 million, up 23.1% and 9.5% respectively, of which imports were second only to Xiamen's mainland ports.

At present, Quanzhou is an important transit port for Taiwan's aquatic products to land in the mainland market. The 7-8 voyages of Taiwan's aquatic products have been normalized from the two wells of Shijing and Weitou in the form of small-scale trade with Taiwan.

In terms of import volume, it was mainly concentrated in May and June for two months. In the past two months, the import volume reached 4019.2 tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.7 times, accounting for nearly 60% of the total imports in the first half of the year, which effectively complemented May. On the 1st, after entering the fishing season, the gap in the seafood market in Quanzhou area met the needs of local and surrounding consumers.

From the perspective of imported varieties, the main products are frozen squid, chilled sashimi, frozen saury, chilled lunch larvae and so on. The largest import volume was frozen squid, which reached 3010.9 tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.88 times, while chilled leucorrhea was 1199.6 tons, a year-on-year increase of 576 times.
