Ningbo aquatic canned food exports increased by 30% year-on-year

According to the statistics of Ningbo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in 2016, Ningbo's aquatic products canned a total of 25,890 tons, with a value of US$61,334,600, a year-on-year increase of 30.2% and 32.55%. Ningbo's aquatic canned food exports showed a good growth trend, with the export of seafood canned fish. There are squid, tuna, sardines and canned salmon, which are exported to more than 40 countries and regions such as the United States, the European Union, South Africa, Malaysia and Australia. Among them, the export to the US market is growing significantly. In 2016, it exported 6030 tons to US$19.42 million, an increase of 93.6% and 90.2%.


The Ningbo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau strictly monitors the quality and safety of canned fisheries by strengthening the awareness of the quality of the enterprise. First, strict implementation of HACCP quality management system, monitoring of key control points such as raw material procurement, production sealing, sterilization; second, actively recommending enterprises in the jurisdiction to register with the EU and other countries, guiding enterprises to apply HACCP, BRC and other management system certification, and continuously improve Ningbo canned food. The third is to improve the export warning information, timely send the latest foreign technology trade barriers and warning notification information to the enterprises in the jurisdiction, carry out enterprise training, and guide enterprises to timely revise the enterprise standards and quality management system to avoid canned export returns. Risks; Fourth, risk management and integrity management are implemented during export inspection, which reduces the proportion of canned sampling and greatly speeds up product inspection.
