2016 Ningbo imported food list released

The imported food that once "high on the" has gradually become a "frequent visitor" on the table of the people of Yucheng. Recently, Ningbo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau released the 2016 Ningbo Port Imported Food List. The list shows that Yucheng “food” people love to import aquatic products, followed by meat products. The third to tenth are wine, dairy products, grains and their products, and beverages.     Relying on the powerful logistics and transportation network and the perfect cold chain logistics facilities in Ningbo Port, imported seafood is most favored by the “food” of the city. After Ningbo Airport was approved to import designated ports for chilled aquatic products, more and more world-class foods were “flying” to Ningbo, including Argentine red shrimp, Canadian lobster and Norwegian salmon. In 2016, Ningbo Port imported 176 million US dollars of aquatic products and products, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year, and imports exceeded 70,000 tons. In terms of types of imports, fish products, shrimp products, and cephalopods are the main varieties. Among them, the import value of tuna with a high value of goods is 40,600 tons, and the value of goods is US$56 million. The import volume of shrimp products is 0.92 million tons, a year-on-year increase. 93.0%; the import volume of cephalopod and squid and other cephalopod products decreased significantly, down about 15,000 tons.


    The second place on the list of imported foods is meat products. Due to the low level of domestic animal husbandry intensive farming and high breeding costs, meat imports are high and explosive growth. In 2016, Ningbo Port imported 61,000 tons of meat products, with an import value of US$129 million, a year-on-year increase of 150% and 119% respectively, a record high. Imported meat is mainly frozen pork and beef, mainly from the United States, the European Union, Brazil and Australia.


    Alcoholic products are still the focus of Ningbo's imports. In 2016, the import value of alcoholic products at Ningbo Port reached US$119 million, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%. Among them, imported wine was 0.7 billion US dollars, up 63.1% year-on-year, mainly from France, Australia, Spain, Chile and Italy.


    The increase in imports of dairy products has increased. In 2016, the value of imports of dairy products in Ningbo Port was 94.49 million US dollars, down 6.18% year-on-year, but the import volume increased by 4.5% to 26,000 tons. It is worth mentioning that imported biscuits and canned products are ranked lower, but the growth potential is huge. In 2016, the import volume of biscuits and biscuits in Ningbo Port was 1,576 tons, and the import value was 6.583 million US dollars, up 104.4% and 60% respectively. In particular, biscuit products, such as chocolate chip cookies from Germany, Savoie finger biscuits from Italy, and wafer biscuits from Indonesia are popular among consumers in Yucheng.
