70% Vietnamese black tiger shrimp sold to China

According to Vietnam's Aquatic Products Exporters and Processors Association, Vietnam's shrimp exports to China have rebounded significantly in the fourth quarter after experiencing a fall in the first three quarters of 2015, and continued to rise in August this year.

 

As of August 15, 2016, China's imports of Vietnamese shrimp totaled 263 million US dollars, an increase of 35.7% compared with the same period last year.

 

China is the largest exporter of Vietnamese black tiger shrimp, with imports reaching 70% of Vietnam's total production. In 2015, the number of black tiger shrimp exported to China was more than double that of white shrimp.




In 2015, the import volume of shrimps in China was 102,843 tons, an increase of 31.7% compared with the previous year, and the total import volume reached 754 million US dollars, an increase of 36% compared with the previous year. Among them, shrimp are the most imported from Ecuador, accounting for 25% of the total imports. Vietnam ranks tenth, accounting for 1.4%
